Lady Demelza's Year in Books 2019

Haha you thought I'd forgotten, didn't you! No, it's not that, but my procrastination is rotten. My book reading habits are also still suffering terribly at the hands of social media. But anyway, here we are.

2. Every Word is a Bird We Teach to Sing by Daniel Tammet 2017
3. The 8-Week Blood Sugar Diet by Dr Michael Mosley 2015
4. Soul by Tobsha Learner 2006
5. Aspecting the Goddess by Jane Meredith 2018
6. Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks 2001
7. My Mother's House by Colette 1922, English translation by Una Vincenzo Troubridge and Enid McLeod 1949, and Sido, 1929, English translation by Enid McLeod 1949, published in one volume 1953
8. Witchcraft into the Wilds by Rachel Patterson 2018
9. The Clever Guts Diet by Dr Michael Mosley 2017

11. Australian Druidry by Julie Brett 2017
12. The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating by Elisabeth Tova Bailey 2010
13. My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me edited by Kate Bernheimer 2010
14. Dark Emu by Bruce Pascoe 2014
15. White Time by Margo Lanagan 1999
16. The Gameshouse by Claire North 2019
17. The Dreamers by Karen Thompson Walker 2019
18. Spark Joy by Marie Kondo 2016
19. The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow 2019
20. The Girl in Red by Christina Henry 2019
21. Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire 2016
22. Frankissstein by Jeanette Winterson 2019

It was absolutely delightful to discover the works of Ludmilla Petrushevskaya - that is some dark twisted stuff there.
The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating is one that I would recommend to everyone. A short, easy read that is profoundly meaningful and possibly life-changing.
There were loads of pretty crappy books along the way that I didn't finish and they haven't made the list, and that is a very good thing.
